Eleven Month Anniversary

Age: 11 months
Weight: 1 1/2 Butterball Turkeys
Best Moment: My first Halloween was cool. Mom went as the Empire State Building and I was King Kong. We got to knock on strangers’ doors for candy. I liked seeing all the kids dressed-up, and throwing my candy everywhere.
Worst Moment: Listen, my teeth couldn’t have come at a better time – hello Thanksgiving! But they came together at the same time. And I was alone with dad. Read my mind like that woman does?!
Eating: Have I mentioned Turkey yet? I love my carbs and mom is saying something about getting ready for moo moo juice? 12 months unlocks a whole world of new foods and drinks.
Notables: Going to Chicago. Mom and dad love that city. They took me on a boat tour, I saw the clubhouse at Wrigley Field and had a swank sushi dinner.
And my hair is getting ridiculous. Both strands. Mom says it’s bad luck to cut my hair before I’m a year-old. The hair flying over my ears disagree.
Traveling, holidays, it was a crazy month. Mom is already talking about my birthday and putting up holiday decor. I like these lights.

Full of Surprises

It’s mid-month and November has me going, huh?
Andrew told me he didn’t pack up any of our Christmas stuff from the UK -> I immediately go shopping to replenish my stash. And most of it’s already up. Hey! Christmas season is short this year.
We’ve had snow and 60 degrees.
Ryder decided to double the number of teeth he has, in a day.
I can’t ever remember being this tired. Kid-falling-asleep-in-their-cereal tired.
Batkid, that left me a blubbering mess.
I’ve already had Reindeer Blend coffee, a Gingerbread Latte, and Spiced Caramel Mocha.
I might be planning to practice my Christmas cookies next week. Just saying.

Sunday Funday: Home Alone Edition

I took a shower washing every body part with actual soap; including all my major crevices; including inbetween my toes and in my belly button, which I never did before but sort of enjoyed. I washed my hair with adult formula shampoo and used cream rinse for that just-washed shine. I can’t seem to find my toothbrush, so I’ll pick one up when I go out today. Other than that, I’m in good shape.

They’re gonna give daddy the Rainman suite, you dig that?

Where ya been?!
Snow. Travelling. Teething. More Travelling.
I told y’all November would be nutty.
Vegas was pretty cool, except for the fact that I slept a total of 5 hours over 3 days and came home to the munchkin pitching a full-on righteous fit a fussy gus due to teething – or according to dad, he was super sad I was gone. Things BabyCenter doesn’t tell you, for $500 Alex.
It was great to see 70 degrees and a pool. It was not so great seeing loads of lushes, people smoking indoors, and an “English Pub” that was in fact, nothing like an “English Pub.”
Can you tell I need some rest?
That said, I spent an evening at Target buying Christmas stuff that wasn’t suppose to go up until after Thanksgiving, until I reasoned and said that the Christmas season is shorter this year due Tday falling late in the year and I wanted to enjoy the occasion.

Autumnal Hues

The trees around Minne are gorge.
The trees around Minne will probably be naked tomorrow because of the “windy as the dickens” forecast today.
Fall trail running > summer pavement.
Daylight savings means nothing to a baby or parents.
I’m going to be an AUNT!!!!!!!!! June babes are the best.
Yard work and home projects.
Pumpkin Spice Cookies.
November travel starts next week and runs through December.
Planning and more planning.

Halloween Empire State Of Mind

Halloween was spooktacular. Our block was almost magical. We had loads of trick or treaters, a bonfire, good friends, and Andrew’s “award winning chili.” Rye and I also had THE best costume.

Before I even had Ryder, I had this idea. I wanted a kid just for this costume. When it came to actually planning Halloween though, we went with the traditional pumpkin costume for the babe. Although he looked like a mix between a mop and toilet lid cover.

I happened to show Andrew a pic of the Empire State Building baby ape duo and he said we had to do it. I was all prepared to start crafting the building, but if you know Andrew, he pretty much ran with it. Meticulously. I was criticized for having my tape windows not be the exact same size. Can’t wait til he starts doing Ryder’s homework. I haven’t made a homemade costume since I was a dice, made from cardboard, which ended miserably. The fact that the building came out spectacular blew my mind. He did an awesome job. We found the perf baby ape costume, grabbed a friend’s Barbie and the rest was first Halloween magic.

Hope y’all had a good one as well!
